The Yunus Emre Institutes (YEE) not only offer Turkish language courses but also administer the Turkish Proficiency Exam (TYS). This central exam is valid for international students seeking admission to a university in Turkiye and is held three times a year, simultaneously in YEE centers both in Turkiye and abroad. The first exam of 2019 was administered in 35 countries, with more than 100,000 candidates participating. Aligned with the Common European Framework Programme, the TYS assesses candidates’ competencies in reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills. Currently, the YEE is also working on developing an online version of the TYS, which is currently offered in a paper-based format. TÖMER

Upon arriving in Turkiye, you can apply to the Turkish and Foreign Languages Application and Research Center (TÖMER), which is affiliated with Ankara University, to learn Turkish. TÖMER has branches located in several cities across Turkiye, including Alanya, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Istanbul, and Izmir. At TÖMER, you can register for Turkish language courses a basic, intermediate, and advanced levels for a reasonable fee. Additionally, TÖMER has a representative office in the Republic of Korea.
