Alanya University is the first university established in the city of Alanya. Its founding initiative began in 2007 by the Hamdullah Emin Paşa Foundation, and it officially started welcoming students in the 2014–2015 academic year. As of 2024, the university changed its name from “Hamdullah Emin Paşa Alanya University” to simply “Alanya University” as per the decision published in the Official Gazette. Located in a central area of historic Alanya, the university offers students a vibrant lifestyle surrounded by cultural, athletic, social centers, and shopping areas. The city itself lies on the southern coast of Turkey, in Antalya province, just 138 km from Antalya city center, and is a renowned tourist destination with attractions like Alanya Castle, the Archaeological Museum, and Damlataş Cave. The university aims to become a global academic institution by contributing to the socio-economic development of the region.
