Batman University is a public university established in 2007 under Law No. 5662. Initially formed by restructuring faculties and institutes previously affiliated with Dicle University, Batman University has rapidly grown into a specialized institution—particularly in the field of energy. In 2021, it was selected as a model university in energy specialization as part of the “Regional Development-Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization Program” initiated by the Turkish Council of Higher Education. The university currently includes 10 faculties, 1 graduate school, 7 vocational schools, and 17 research centers.

Yes, Batman University accepts various international standardized exams for undergraduate admissions. Accepted exams include:​
