Batman University is a public university established in 2007 under Law No. 5662. Initially formed by restructuring faculties and institutes previously affiliated with Dicle University, Batman University has rapidly grown into a specialized institution—particularly in the field of energy. In 2021, it was selected as a model university in energy specialization as part of the “Regional Development-Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization Program” initiated by the Turkish Council of Higher Education. The university currently includes 10 faculties, 1 graduate school, 7 vocational schools, and 17 research centers.

Does Batman University require TR-YÖS or other entrance exams for international student admissions?

Yes, Batman University accepts various international standardized exams for undergraduate admissions. Accepted exams include:​

  • KONKUR (Iran)

  • TQDK (Azerbaijan)

  • AYÖS​

Applicants must submit valid scores from one of these exams as part of their application. The university does not require a separate institutional entrance exam. ​

For programs taught in Turkish, international students must demonstrate proficiency at a B2 level. Accepted proof includes certificates from recognized institutions like TÖMER or DİLMER. Students without such certification must take a Turkish proficiency exam administered by the university. Those who do not meet the required level are given up to two semesters to improve their proficiency before commencing their studies. ​

Batman University primarily offers programs in Turkish. However, certain departments, such as English Language and Literature, may offer courses in English.
