Yes, ESOGÜ accepts various international standardized exams for undergraduate admissions. Accepted exams include:
TR-YÖS (Türkiye Yurt Dışı Öğrenci Sınavı)
SAT
ACT
International Baccalaureate (IB)
GCE A-Level
National high school diplomas from various countries
Applicants must submit valid scores from one of these exams as part of their application. The university does not require a separate institutional entrance exam.
A few programs are offered entirely in English — especially Electrical-Electronics Engineering and some Computer Engineering tracks. But most programs require Turkish, and even in English-taught programs, knowing Turkish is very useful for daily life and labs. No Turkish = you’ll hit real limits.
If you don’t have the required TÖMER C1 for Turkish programs or TOEFL/IELTS for English ones, you must take the prep year. It’s not just a formality — they enforce it, and failing means delaying your degree. You can test out only if you pass ESOGÜ’s internal exam.
It’s not overhyped. Eskişehir is probably one of the most livable and student-friendly cities in Turkey. It’s clean, modern, has trams, affordable rents, and two major universities — ESOGÜ and Anadolu. The vibe is young, cultural, and pretty chill. International students don’t feel isolated here.
