Istanbul 29 Mayis University began its academic journey in the 2010–2011 academic year through its Faculty of Humanities, initially offering programs in Philosophy, History, and Turkish Language and Literature. Since then, the university has grown into one of the prominent private universities in Turkey, adding various faculties and programs, including the most recent undergraduate program in Special Education, launched in the 2022–2023 academic year. Founded by the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation in 2010, the university aims to contribute to social and human development in Turkey and the region, shaping a better future through academic, social, and cultural initiatives. Despite its relatively recent establishment, the university has quickly earned a strong reputation, particularly in the social sciences.
