Istanbul Rumeli University is a private university that attracts a significant number of Arab students and offers a rich and inclusive educational environment for both international and local students. Istanbul Rumeli University was officially established on April 23, 2015, by the Balcı Foundation, which dates back to 2010. Guided by the belief that “education is the most valuable cornerstone of society,” the foundation offers scholarships to hundreds of students through Rumeli University. The university welcomed its first cohort in the 2016–2017 academic year with three faculties, one vocational school, and two graduate institutes. Today, it offers modern facilities including a conference hall, library, restaurant, sports fields (e.g. tennis court), a health center, cafeterias, and a 1300 m² research center. It operates four campuses across both the European and Asian sides of Istanbul, with the main campus located in Beyoğlu, overlooking the Golden Horn. The university is accredited by the Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and recognized by many European and Arab countries.
