MEF’s flipped model means you study lectures at home via video or reading, and use classroom time for discussion, problem-solving, or projects. Many international students find it engaging but initially challenging. Self-discipline is key — you’re expected to come to class prepared every time, and passive learning doesn’t work here.
Despite the flipped approach, MEF maintains regular in-person sessions. Classrooms are highly interactive, and attendance is monitored. The university emphasizes physical presence, especially for group work, presentations, and lab-based activities. It is not a remote-learning model.
Yes, MEF encourages cross-disciplinary learning. As long as there’s space and scheduling allows, international students can take electives from other faculties — including Psychology, Law, or Art and Design. Some may require prior approval or minimum GPA.
Yes. Faculty members at MEF are generally very responsive and expect students to reach out with questions. Office hours, email feedback, and one-on-one meetings are part of the flipped model’s support structure, especially in Engineering and Business faculties.
MEF’s Career Center offers internship placements and networking opportunities, but many listings are in Turkish. That said, the university has partnerships with multinational firms, and English-speaking students in tech, business, and design fields can find suitable placements — though they may need to be proactive and apply early.
