Founded in 1992 as a continuation of Selçuk University’s Niğde Faculty, Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University is a well-established public institution offering a wide range of academic programs in engineering, science, arts, agriculture, Islamic studies, and health sciences. In 2016, the university was renamed in honor of Sergeant Major Ömer Halisdemir, a national hero of Turkey.
